Peer-to-Peer is a free 10-week recovery education course  for persons living with mental illness who are interested in establishing and maintaining wellness.

Dates: Wednesdays, December 5, 2012 – February 20, 2013

Location: St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, South Entrance, Room 4-901, 1508 Tippecanoe Street, Lafayette, IN  47904

The course is offered for consumers who have any of the following diagnoses:

  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Major Depression
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Schizophrenia & Schizoaffective Disorder
  • Panic Disorder & Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Co-occurring Brain Disorders & Addictive Disorders
  • Sleep Disorders
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Topics covered in the course include:

  • Coping skills, recovery, and relapse prevention
  • Decision-making, spirituality, and medication
  • Empowerment, advocacy, and advanced directives
  • Stigma, discrimination, effective communication skills

The course is taught by a teams of 2 trained mentors who are, themselves, experienced at living well with mental illness.
